Languages

The Languages visual editor is a supervisor (or admin) tool you can use to edit the list of languages your center’s agents speak. The creation of a new language is reflected in the definition of agents’ language skills, in the metadata editor, in the definition of rules, etc.

Warning

It is not about localization! The entire application cannot be switched to the language created here.

The editor can be found in FrontStage administration, section Metadata ‣ Languages. You need the EditLanguage role.

The running editor displays a list of all the available languages. It is also filled with a result of the data query. Its ID is in the LanguageAdminQueryId configuration parameter.

In the upper right corner there are buttons for interacting with the records:

  • Create - Displays a pop-up window for selecting the language.

  • Delete - Bulk action. Deletes the marked records in the list.

How does it work?

The editor works pretty straightforward.

  1. After pressing the Create button, select the desired language and confirm.

  2. It will appear in the list, and you’re pretty much done. The details contain only the ID and Name.

However, the language you have now established in the system will be reflected in more places where you can work with it. Here’s an example:

  1. The agent profile that you edit through the Agents visual editor. Now, you can set the agent’s proficiency level for different communication channels in this language.

  2. The language can be used within conditions to handle calls, chats, etc. This can be done, for example, by using the Inbound Calls visual editor.

  3. Following the previous occurrences, a language can be assigned as metadata to any object where languages can be selected. Here, for example, as the language of an incoming call:
